I spent 25 years working in various roles with Union Camp/International Paper/Arizona Chemical. I started out as a Financial Assistant doing payroll, managing the Landings Marina accounts and serving as back up for Accounts Payable, Credit Department and General Ledger. I also scheduled all Company events and meetings.
My next move was in Public Relations and Governmental Affairs where I worked with Mike Vaquer. I served on various community boards, managed travel and correspondence for two managers; managed four budgets; conducted Mill Tours for customers and community visitors and published the internal company magazine for Savannah. I coordinated the site’s charitable giving with a local budget of over $100,000 and was one of three Union Camp employees that led the company in the merger with International Paper.
I moved over to a new joint venture with Arboris, a company from Chile where I was the Office Manager handling everything from scheduling raw materials to scheduling the hourly employees work schedules. I coordinated customer and community visits as well as company events.
I moved back over to Arizona Chemical working for the Director of Sustainability where I coordinated meetings, travel, scheduled customer visits, company meetings and events, directed photo shoots for company brochures and attended trade shows.
My next assignment was in Human Relations where I advertised for local job openings for the site, selected applicants to interview and sat in on the Interview Panel. I conducted new employee orientation, administered employee benefits, coordinated employee recognition, planned company events and meetings and worked with five Unions for hourly employees.
